Huawei remains adamant that the P30 Pro and Mate 20 Pro plus a further 15 devices will get updated to Android Q even despite the ongoing US trade ban.

Android Q is currently in beta with a plethora of devices from Google and OEMs alike. Over the past day, however, we’ve noticed that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has been removed from the Android Q Beta page amidst the unfolding trade issues plaguing the company.
Android Q is still in beta right now, but Huawei is officially confirming a few of its devices for the upgrade. When the time comes, at least 8 of the company’s devices will be updated including the P30 and Mate 20 lineups.
Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro is praised for a lot of reasons, and its camera quality is a huge one. This week, a new update is rolling out to the Mate 20 Pro which promises to further improve camera quality in some settings, as well as improving face unlock and more.
Arguably two of the very best night photography modes on any devices currently available are Google’s Night Sight and Huawei’s Night Mode. The people’s champion has to be Night Sight on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, but that doesn’t mean the Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s camera is a slouch. Night Mode on the Mate 20 Pro is very impressive in its own right.

Fresh off the back of news that the Huawei Mate 20 series won’t be made available in the United States comes our review of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Personally, I think it is a massive shame that the device won’t be officially available in the US, as this device could be a serious contender for smartphone of the year. Huawei could be criticized for trying to throw all the ingredients into a smartphone and hope that it sticks, but in practice, there is so much here to love.
As expected, the Huawei Mate 20 / Pro and Huawei Mate 20X devices will not officially be available in the United States. While Huawei may be the world’s second largest smartphone brand, it isn’t allowed to sell in the US due to government regulations. Perhaps making it even more impressive they’ve claimed the number two spot even without the US market.
The brand new Huawei Mate 20 Pro has an outstanding camera, so too does the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, but which is the better shooter? Without yet delving into the Night Mode capabilities of both cameras — that will come in a more in-depth test and feature the Pixel 3 — let’s see how each fair during the daylight hours.
